Here at Words To Glow we love to excite and inspire and we simply can’t think of a better way to do it than in collaboration with some of the best in the business!
On a Monday morning at the beginning of September the dream team brought a little bit of sunshine to a cloudy day in Manchester, courtesy of a fabulous bridal photo shoot at the fantastic new city centre hotel – INNSIDE by Melia, Manchester.
Located in the First Street development in the heart of Manchester, Innside is merely a short stroll away from all our lovely vibrant City Centre has to offer. With a modern interior and clean and contemporary lines, this hotel is just perfect for the modern day bride and provides the perfect blank canvas for some simply stunning venue dressing.
Inspired by the contemporary decor and setting, the brief and colour palette for this shoot was muted greys and zingy, sunshine yellows. The combination of yellow sunflowers, shimmery grey satin table linen and yellow napkins was in keeping with the contemporary feel of the venue and the crisp, white tableware finished the look just perfectly.
The addition of dramatic and show stopping table centres, candlebras, primrose yellow napkins and pretty sunflowers in vases added to the drama of the occasion. Providing the perfect backdrop to the room and to all the fabulous photographs were our wonderfully dramatic and sparkly MR & MRS letter lights.
With makeup by Lorna Waterworth MUA, our bride for the day, Sam looked simply divine in a princess tulle gown by Pearl Bridal, stunning full length antique lace edged veil, courtesy of Dream Veils and carrying a simple yellow calla lily posy from Verdure Floral.
Innside features a gorgeous statement glass staircase and this provided the most perfect photo opportunity for our bride for the day. The first of two cakes for the shoot from Caroline’s Cake Company featured delicate piping detail and feminine flowers.
The second cake was distinctly contemporary , with geometric patterns, adorned with a fabulous blue and white striped bow.
Our second model for the shoot was Imogen. Modelling a strapless, primrose yellow Fifties inspired dress with feminine floral corsage our model showcased one of the bedrooms available at the hotel to perfection.
Of course, rain didn’t stop play for the dream team. As English weather goes (and particularly here in Manchester!) you can never be sure of the sunshine. However, a little rain on your wedding day should never be a cause for distress. In fact, it can be the cue for some fabulously alternative wedding photography.
Ever the professional, Jenny from McAvoy Photography (who organised and planned the shoot) took the small downpour as an opportunity to seize some wonderful outdoor shots. By simply adding a fun, multi-coloured umbrella, the vibrant yellow of the surrounding buildings really POPPED!
Followed by a little time out at the hotel’s cocktail bar, we were ready to roll again …..
Sophie, our final model for the day looked simply ethereal in another fabulously floaty, slimline gown from Pearl Bridal Boutique.
Our MR & MRS letters in lights really created a statement on the day and prove to be a fantastic addition and sparkly backdrop to your wedding photographs. We love these bridesmaid dresses too in stunning grey satin which are a simple and elegant style choice for your special day.
Taken from afar or up close and personal, our illuminated letters look stunning and will be the ultimate talking point amongst your wedding guests.
Finally, I will leave you with the final shots of the day, and the last one, one of my personal faves. We hope we have given you oodles of inspiration and ideas as to how to bring those defining and memorable little touches to your special day!
