So we are more than just a little excited to showcase what happened at Words To Glow HQ this week! What could be better than a weekday collaboration with some of the best suppliers in the wedding business?

What followed was a fabulously dreamy photoshoot at the Midland Hotel, Morecambe with beautiful images from the hugely talented McAvoy Wedding Photography. Words To Glow are therefore delighted to share just some of those scrummy photos with our followers here.

The mood board for the shoot prescribed colours of the seaside with an upmarket, sparkly vibe. Standing on Morecambe seafront, The Midland Hotel was designed to complement the curve of the promenade, which allows guests to view spectacular panoramas of the North West coastal vista. The three-storey curving building, with a stunningly beautiful spiral staircase opened in July 1933 and as such, has a distinct Art Deco feel to its décor.

The colour scheme for the shoot prescribed hues of palest blue, blush, soft silvers and whites and floral arrangements of hydrangea, pale blush roses and pussy willow from Verdure Floral Design fitted the script just perfectly.

With sparkly sequin tablecloths, crystal tablewear and candlebra the scene was set. The hotel’s fabulous cocktail bar was ours for the morning and Words To Glow is simply delighted at how great our vintage LOVE marquee sign looks against the backdrop of the bar’s funky purple lighting! Giving an almost futuristic, space-age feel to the photographs, I have to say these particular group of images are my utmost favourites of the whole occasion!

Our two beautiful brides for the day were Lucy and Simone. Makeup was courtesy of Sarah Heys MUA in soft pastels and pale metallic and hair was decorated with the most delicate of crystal Art Deco headdresses.

With pretty sequins and lots of luscious floatiness, the gorgeous bridal dresses continued the 1920’s Art Deco theme and were provided by Isla Jean Bridal.

Decorated in colours of the seaside, The Eric Grill provided the perfect setting for both our sparkly LOVE wedding letters and the fantastic décor provided by Verdure Floral Design.

The talented Caroline’s Cake Company provided not one, but two wedding cakes that fitted the bill just perfectly! In colours of silver and soft turquoise, my personal favourite came with lots of sparkle and pretty, delicate ruffles, and looked indeed too good to eat!

The second cake was simple in its elegance, decorated in silver leaf and finished off with delicate blush flowers from Verdure Floral Design.

Some of my absolute favourite images from the day derive from the awesome spiral staircase which takes centre stage in the middle of the hotel. Adorned with a sumptuous red carpet and murals taking inspiration from the hotel and promenade themselves, the staircase appears almost to be a feat of architectural engineering in itself and undeniably commands your attention.

Of course, the final shots of the day just had to take advantage of the beautiful scenery right on the hotel’s doorstep. With a change in bridal attire and the addition of a beautiful, floaty veil, courtesy of Dream Veils, this stunningly reflective shot was taken.

Perhaps another shot that features in my top five of the day and again takes advantage of the fabulous scenery beachside is this romantic and beautifully feminine photograph. I simply love the combination of colours from the blue of the sky to the pastel pink of the parasol and the faded turquoise of the upturned fisherman boat. Delectable!

Of course, many thanks in particular go to McAvoy Wedding Photography, Verdure Floral Design, Caroline’s Cake Company, Isla Jean Bridal, makeup by Sarah Heys and of course, the lovely Claire over at The English Wedding Blog for seeing the gorgeousness and featuring this lovely styled shoot!
