Here at Words To Glow we are always up for a little Q & A time. We realise you may have additional queries in regards to our illuminated letter hire and we have tried to cover the key points below. However, if there is something we have missed, please contact us and we will be in touch with a reply ASAP!

How big are the letter lights and how do they work? 

Each of our letters stand at 4ft x 2ft high. The individual letters daisy chain together and therefore only require one plug socket per word.  For every booking that requires it, we will also include a 5m long 4 point extension lead to power the lights with.

How much does it cost to hire the letters/signs?

Are they safe?

Completely! We use low wattage LED lights which do not heat up like normal light bulbs so they are extremely safe. We comply to regular PAT testing for all of our electrical connections.

Can I have them in more than one choice of colour?

Certainly! Our bulbs are available in warm white led as standard. Our mini light up letters come in white cabochon (carnival) bulbs. However, we can order in coloured bulbs at cost price for specific requirements. 

Where is it best to position the lights?

Please position the lights against or close to a wall or backdrop to ensure the best interests of your party goers.  We ask this to protect our letters from getting accidentally knocked over and damaged. This is also to ensure the wires supplying the light source to the letters are safely tucked away out of sight!

How long do I get the letters for?

You can hire all our letters and signage for an agreed  24 hour period. For any additional hire periods, please confirm this ahead of the function date in writing/email with Words To Glow.

By hiring from Words To Glow you agree to take responsibility for the letters and their safe keeping and therefore must not lend them to a third party during the period of hire.

What happens with delivery & collection of the letters?

Door to door delivery & collection is included in the price quoted for the hire of your letter lights within a 40 mile radius of Manchester M30.

What if a light bulb blows?

The bulbs used in Words To Glow illuminated signage are LED low wattage and therefore long lasting.  Prior to each event we will ensure each letter is in full working order before delivery.

We will also supply spare bulbs in the highly unlikely event that a bulb blows. 

Can we have the lights outside?

Unfortunately our lights are presently designed for indoor use only.

What safety standard do the letter lights meet?

We undertake regular PAT testing on all our hire products on an annual basis. 

My venue wants to see insurance certificates?

No problem! Give us a bell and we can forward you confirmation of our insurance certificates.

Can I purchase your letters?

Not right now. At present, the marquee letters are just for hire.

I would like to know how to pay

Due to the popularity of our big letters we do require a fully refundable security/booking deposit of £50 to secure them for your date and to cover any accidental damage or loss of the letters whilst out on hire.

Words To Glow will raise an invoice for the quoted hire cost, plus returnable deposit. Payment in full is required at least 6 weeks before your event date. You can make payment for your hire via the following methods – PAYPAL, BACS or via cheque.  If we have not received payment in full before your event we reserve the right to retain the £50 booking deposit and cancel your booking.

Cancellation

The £50 security deposit to confirm your booking is non-refundable should you need to cancel. The remaining balance that is due 6 weeks before your event date. PLEASE NOTE. We are unable to issue hire cost refunds to any cancellations less than six weeks prior to the function date.
