On a sunshine and showers kinda day which kind of typified the ‘summer’ that was 2015, Words To Glow was honoured to take part in yet another fabulously inspired photo shoot at one of our most well known and loved city centre hotels. Located near the very heart of Manchester City Centre, with superb access to the very best Manchester has to offer in terms of theatre and entertainment, the Victoria & Albert Hotel Manchester is steeped in local history and culture.

On the very banks of the River Irwell, adjacent to Spinningfields, this lovely 4 star venue started off life as a factory warehouse in the Industrial Era and as such, dates back to the year 1844.

With a beautiful water feature to the front of the hotel and photo opportunities to be had on the banks of the adjacent river, it is unusual for a city centre hotel to boast of outdoor photo opportunities such as these.

Romantic Bride & Groom on wedding photo shoot

The Victoria & Albert is able to offer a number of different room hire options and wedding packages for your special day and is can cater for large weddings or smaller, more intimate affairs.

It has a selection of break out spaces and a stunning reception area with iron pillars and wooden beams and Juliet balcony which is simply perfect for some relaxed wedding photography with a sense of style.

Couples can also choose to get married at the hotel, which offers a total of nine room options; each providing a perfect blank canvas to decorate and transform into your perfect ceremony room. All images on this lovely day were taken by McAvoy Photography.

Beautiful floral arrangements such as these by Verdure Floral Design and giant lighted letters can be all you need to create that perfect focal point and backdrop for your romantic wedding vows.

A touch of dramatic gold vases added a little theatre to the occasion.

Who doesn’t like a peacock feather or two? Stunning attention to detail and use of colour as always by the delectable Caroline’s Cake Company of Sale, Cheshire.

Full of ambience and warm, scrumptious touchy-feely fabrics, the V & A Lounge Bar is just perfect for pre-dinner aperitifs and canapés. Our bride and groom, Caitlin and Danny took some time out to relax and have a cocktail or two in between takes.

As with any well thought out wedding plans, it is the little details that count. Here we carry through the theme of peacock feathers into the bridal bouquet.

The second of our Wedding Cakes to be photographed on the day. This time, taking inspiration from the turquoise blues that surround the venue, this three tier wedding cake just oozes decadence.

With the shoot taking place at the Victoria & Albert Hotel, what better way to showcase this lovely venue than with some of our gorgeous and sparkly letter lights spelling out their name! Perfect.

Looking like a true princess in this second dress, Caitlin looked stunning in this tulle and lace bridal gown by Pearl Bridal Boutique of Sale, Cheshire.

Another of my favourite shots of the day just has to be this one of our ‘bride’ with her cute as a button flower girl. Who wouldn’t want to recreate this image for their wedding album?

There certainly are some great spots throughout the hotel to take some wonderfully different photographs such as these against the lovely red brick.

Taking centre stage in the Reception of the V & A our light up letters really did make an impact, with hotel staff and guests alike stopping to stare!

I simply love the detail and feel to this part of the hotel. The combination of original iron pillars, exposed brick and wooden beams, balcony and stunningly eclectic soft furnishings makes for an entrance with a difference.

Here we show the fabulous balcony area and how this can be used to great visual effect.

We LOVE LOVE how great our light up letters look reflected in the tiled floor in front. With the strategically placed mood lighting behind they really do shine!

Our younger bridesmaid for the day looks like a Disney Princess in one of several bridesmaid dresses provided by Pearl Bridal on the day. Hair and makeup throughout was courtesy of Jenna from Studio 624.

And finally, another great shot to end the day! Our ‘bridal party’ enjoying a laugh and a giggle. Brilliant!

Once again, I hope you have enjoyed this post and perhaps found even a smidgen of inspiration for your own wedding day. I personally love just how wonderfully this shoot has showcased our light up initials to perfection.
