The General Election is merely a matter of days away and the nation is consequently busy preparing to take to the polls this week. At Words To Glow, it isn’t often that we get asked to take part in party political debates. We kind of leave that one to the experts! A couple of weeks ago however, we took a phone call enquiry from a BBC researcher. The researcher enquired in regards to our light up number hire; asking for our help and contribution towards filming an Election Special broadcast piece for the BBC Breakfast News. This is the second time we have been privileged to work with the television production company. Therefore, we were only too delighted to provide our light up numbers to help again!
The day of hire:
On the morning of the shoot, the filming took place in the lovely gardens of Media City UK, directly in front of the BBC Northern Headquarters. The BBC Breakfast News headman, Dan Walker guided viewers through the national voting predictions for the key election parties; based on a nominal figure of 100 voters. Words To Glow’s large number 100 provided the perfect visual prop for the illustration and filming of course! We think they looked rather lovely in the BBC Blue Peter Gardens to boot! It is our belief that our signage looks just as good outside unlit on a bright sunny day as it does next to the dance floor!
In conclusion, we are simply stoked to feature on such a prominent primetime show! Do check out our images from the exciting occasion and our highlighted clip from the Breakfast News broadcast! EEK!
